A Bosphorus dinner cruise combines an evening meal with views of Istanbul's palaces, mosques and bridges lit up at night. There are two main ways to do it: a shared dinner cruise with a Turkish night show, or a private yacht dinner for your group only. This guide explains the difference and helps you choose. For a step-by-step look at the evening itself, read what to expect on an Istanbul dinner cruise.
Why take a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus?
Istanbul looks different from the water at night. Dolmabahçe and Çırağan palaces, the Ortaköy Mosque and the Bosphorus bridges are all illuminated, and the city lights stretch along both the European and Asian shores. Eating on board means you see all of this without spending part of your evening in traffic.
A dinner cruise also works well for incentive groups and company events, because it combines dinner, sightseeing and entertainment in one booking.
Types of Bosphorus dinner cruise
Shared dinner cruise with Turkish night show
This is the classic option. You join other guests on a large boat with indoor and outdoor decks for a set dinner and a programme of live entertainment: belly dancing, Turkish folk dances, a whirling dervish performance and more. The evening lasts around 3.5 hours, and hotel pick-up and drop-off from central European-side hotels is usually included.
It suits couples, families and solo travellers who want a lively, all-in-one evening at a fixed price per person. Learn more about the entertainment in what is a Turkish night show.

Themed Ottoman night cruises
Some evenings follow an Ottoman theme, with costumes and music inspired by the palace era. The format is similar to the Turkish night cruise: around 3.5 hours on the water, dinner, drinks and live entertainment while you pass the illuminated Ottoman palaces and see the old city skyline, including the Blue Mosque, from the water.

Private yacht dinner cruise
On a private dinner cruise the whole yacht, with its captain and crew, is reserved for your group only. You choose the menu, the departure time, the route and the music. It works for anything from a couple to large groups: our yachts carry from two guests up to 250. Hotel or airport transfers can be arranged.
There is no stage show by default, so the evening is quieter and more personal: good for proposals, anniversaries, family celebrations and company dinners. See the options on our private dinner cruise on a yacht page.

Shared or private: how to choose
| Shared dinner cruise | Private yacht dinner | |
|---|---|---|
| Who is on board | Other guests at shared or separate tables | Your group only, with captain and crew |
| Entertainment | Turkish night show included | Your own music; quieter atmosphere |
| Menu | Set menu with a choice of main course | Chosen with you in advance |
| Timing and route | Fixed schedule, around 3.5 hours | Flexible start time and length |
| Boarding | Kabataş pier, with hotel transfers | One of eight piers on both shores |
| Price | Per person | Per yacht, on a written quote |
Choose the shared cruise if you want a fun, sociable night with a show and a simple per-person price. Where Bosphorus dinner cruises depart
The shared Bosphorus dinner cruise with Turkish night show departs from Kabataş pier, within walking distance of Dolmabahçe Palace. Private yachts can pick you up from any of eight piers: Karaköy, Kabataş, Beşiktaş, Kuruçeşme, Arnavutköy and Bebek on the European side, and Kuleli and Beylerbeyi on the Asian side.
- By tram: take the T1 tram towards Kabataş and get off at the last stop. The pier is just opposite the station.
- From the Asian side: hotel transfers for the shared cruise do not cover hotels on the Asian side. Take a ferry from Kadıköy to Kabataş (around 15 to 20 minutes) or a taxi.
- Getting back: the shared cruise ends late in the evening, when public transport is limited, so plan a taxi if you are not using the hotel transfer.
- By car: there are car parks near Dolmabahçe Palace, a few minutes' walk from the pier.
How to book a Bosphorus dinner cruise
You do not need to buy a ticket at the pier. For the shared cruise, book a few days ahead; after booking you will be told your hotel pick-up time. Check the cancellation terms on the tour page when you book.
For a private yacht dinner, send us your date, group size and preferred pier, and we usually reply with a written quote within the hour by WhatsApp. Fuel and marina fees are included in private quotes.
