A day on the Princes' Islands
An hour across the Sea of Marmara from the city, the nine Princes' Islands feel like another world. There are no cars, only bicycles, electric carts and the sound of the sea; the streets are lined with 19th-century wooden mansions, gardens and churches, and pine woods run down to small beaches. In Byzantine times the islands were a place of exile for princes and empresses. Today they are where Istanbul goes to slow down.
On this full-day tour our boat takes you to three of the islands, Kınalıada, Heybeliada and Büyükada, with a guide who tells their history along the way. An open buffet lunch is served on board, and the longest stop is on Büyükada, the largest island, where you are free to explore. Want to visit with only your group? Ask us about a private yacht to the islands.
